Priya Pillai is originally from Harrington Park, New Jersey, and is currently a junior studying environmental geoscience at Purdue University. She is an active member of the Purdue University Geological Society (PUGS) and is also an ambassador for the department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science (EAPS). After taking an environmental policy class halfway through her college career, she chose to add a political science minor to further her interest in policy making, and to explore the possibilities of merging science with politics. After graduation, Priya aspires to use her degree as well as her minor to expand representation in the workforce for environmental scientists.

How Do You Empower Purdue to Do MORE?
As a representative for the College of Science, my goal is to strongly advocate for my fellow constituents when their voices are not recognized on campus. As a member of the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science Department, I see students and faculty undermined for being environmental scientists and I do not want to see that happen to anyone else in my department or in the College of Science. I chose to endorse candidates Jagel and Bhargava because their campaign message of doing MORE corresponds with what I want to achieve in office. They want to engage with more students to make sure that every student is comfortable and has the opportunity to have their voices heard on campus. My name is Priya Pillai and a vote for me, as well as Jagel and Bhargava, will ensure that every member of the student body has an equal opportunity to be a part of Purdue's community.
