Zachary Stewart

Zach is a Political Science major and wants to represent the students of the College of Liberal Arts in the student government Senate to the University administrators and the student body as a whole. Zach interned with the Bowman Creek Educational Ecosystem for the last three summers, and his work can be best described by the organization's mission statement: "A partnership that pilots community-engaged, sustainable projects to address real world challenges in the Southeast neighborhood of South Bend, IN." In the first two years of the internship's creation, Zach specifically managed the Facebook and YouTube pages as a part of the community outreach campaign, in addition to helping with the numerous other projects the internship program undertook, all of which you can read about at www.BCe2.org. In his third and final year, he conducted a feasibility study on daylighting the Bowman Creek through his high school's campus. He was awarded for his work with the nomination for the Indiana Intern of the Year award in February 2017.
How Do You Empower Purdue to Do MORE?
I want to empower Purdue by promoting a healthier, safer, and more engaged student experience on campus; by advocating for my constituents in the College of Liberal Arts; and by working to give more Boilermakers a voice in their student government
